Office of a Pastor
"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Acts 20:28

What is the nature and function of the PASTOR?
The shepherd of the flock of God

The word "pastor" comes from the Latin word meaning "herdsman". This
word is used 18 times in the New Testament and is translated
"shepherd(s)" in every instance except in Ephesians 4:11 where it is
translated as "pastor. This word means "to tend the flock not merely feed
them!" This is where the idea for a Pastor to shepherd, lead, protect,
care for, and feed the sheep comes from.
